Couture has Even More to Offer with 3-D Printing

Today's fashion news post is all about the up and the onward: 3-D printing meets high fashion

But to add some context.... the 20th century meets the 21st with these laser created garments. Chanel took to a showroom in New York City to display these future fashion garments. The real Coco Chanel would blow her mind if she knew how her legacy was being carried on. This new technology created and crafted 10 gorgeous looks using selective laser sintering—lasers used to melt material one layer at a time to create three dimensional objects. Crazy, maybe… but beautiful they are. These garments are composed of 3-D grids that are later embroidered and embellished in the house’s couture ateliers, Lesage and Lemarié. These garments appear to have an almost two-toned looked to them, being molded from a cage-like material. Karl Lagerfeld known for making new statements in fashion has out down himself.
