Fashion Apps: Because This is The 21st Century

The good the better and the how have I never used this before because it’s the best; apps of the fashion world. These will truly reinvent the way you look at and interact with fashion.

For the good:

The Hunt! And no that’s not the title of the next Hangar Game movie, but it is just as badass. This app allows you to post a picture of literally anything you have found on the internet, fashion wise (although I did come across some electronics and home goods) and let other people “hunt” for it and tell you where you can purchase that said item. Let me put this in perspective for you: you’re scrolling through your Tumblr and you come across a pair of never before seen Nike sneakers that are floral and amazing and you “like really need them right now” but how? And where? Can you purchase these life-changing sneakers. Well my friend that’s where the Hunt becomes your personal detective for all things fashion. You simple screenshot the Tumblr picture, post it to the app and wait for some fellow app user (or what I like to call the: Fairy godmothers) to post a link of where you can purchase the item! This app is amazing because it allows you to find what you think you couldn’t.

For the better:

ShopStyle! Trust me when I say save the gas, or a trip on the subway and skip the mall all together. This app is the mall…. Literally it’s probably better then most of the malls you’ve ever been to. This is a search engine that allows you to type in an article of clothing or accessory you want and then be able to search through many different brands all at once to pick out the best version of that product. Finding the perfect little black dress or the must have motto jacket for going out is now easier then ever. All your favorite brands are all in one place and just waiting for you, so download this app, it may just change your life!

For the best:

LIKEtoKNOWit! Okay so let me start this off by saying, why haven’t I ever used this before!?!? If you are in the dark like I was and don’t know what this beautiful app is, let me explain. This app allows Instagram users to like a picture with the hash tag #Liketoknowit and then receive an email of where to find the garments that are being worn in the picture. This is genius… I can't even tell you how many times I have seen a picture of a blogger on Instagram and wished I knew where she shopped. I downloaded this and find myself literally using it everyday. EVERYDAY… this is not an exaggeration if you’re like me and check your instragram daily and follow a bunch of bloggers then there really is no reason to not have this app.

I am currently interning with an independent jewelry designer: Rhea Kulscar and she is constantly looking for new ways to showcase her jewelry and get more people on to her website. I think she would really benefit from the app LIKEtoKNOWit. She could pay or just gift her jewelry to some well known bloggers, have them take some pictures while wearing her pieces and then have everyone who likes that picture would receive an email with a link to her website. I think this could really get the word out about her jewelry.
